In the news: McCloud River Mercantile Hotel, Niger, Giraffes

TravelSavvy Mom posted my review of the McCloud River Mercantile Hotel. My writerly friend Jody Mace (who had a hilarious piece recently in the Washington Post about finishing last in a road race) blogged about my giraffe article. Niger and giraffes are showing up in all sorts of interesting places, like on Jefferson Public Radio, and a Bend TV website. It’s nice for Americans to hear good news from Niger and not just associate the country with starving children, which is one of our small-minded stereotypes.
